Overview

Various original equipment manufacturers require high-current, high-density power connectors that support design flexibility. To meet these needs, the Mini-Fit J, Mini-Fit Plus, Mini-Fit Blind-Mate Interface (BMI), and Mini-Fit TPA2 connectors offer polarized housings with isolated terminals, pressure locking, and low mating forces. All versions of the Mini-Fit J and Mini-Fit Plus connectors are mutually compatible, including Mini-Fit TPA2 and Mini-Fit Connectors, making design challenges easier to manage.

Customers with blind-mate applications need connectors that simplify assembly, prevent incorrect mating, and minimize potential terminal damage. Mini-Fit BMI connectors allow for floating connections with up to 2.54 mm of misalignment, facilitating blind-mate assembly. Additionally, the connectors are equipped with flanges for easier docking and mating, ensuring precise connection.

Improperly assembled connectors can lead to terminal disengagement, resulting in product failure and potential liability costs for manufacturers. Mini-Fit TPA2 connectors help prevent product failure by providing Terminal Position Assurance (TPA). TPA reduces terminal disengagement by adding locking redundancy. Mini-Fit TPA2 sockets are backward compatible with Mini-Fit J sockets, allowing customers to avoid significant modifications or investments in their applications.
