What are the types of F/UTP industrial grade Ethernet cables?

Compared to other shielded cables, F/UTP cables have a wider range of applications. This article will analyze the definition and categories of F/UTP cables.

1, Definition of F/UTP Industrial Ethernet Cable

F/UTP, The sheath material is usually made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or LSZH (low smoke halogen-free) environmentally friendly materials, while the "F" in "F/UTP" represents the outer aluminum foil shielding, and "UTP" represents the internal twisted pair without separate shielding. The characteristic of this type of network cable is that it is only wrapped with an aluminum foil shielding layer (total shielding) on the outer layer, which can effectively resist external electromagnetic interference, but has no protective effect on crosstalk between wire pairs.

Compared to double shielded Ethernet cables (such as S/FTP), F/UTP has lower costs and relatively simple construction requirements, but it needs to ensure that the shielding layer is fully grounded to be effective - if the grounding is poor, the shielding layer may become a source of interference. Therefore, F/UTP is particularly suitable for ordinary office environments with moderate electromagnetic interference, such as office buildings, shopping malls, bank branches, non precision areas of hospitals (such as nurse stations), and industrial control networks. It can meet the basic anti-interference requirements while also considering economy. It is also widely used in scenarios with moderate sensitivity to interference, such as smart homes and IoT systems.

2, Categories of F/UTP industrial grade Ethernet cables

The cable is suitable for connecting RJ45 patch panels and Ethernet communication devices equipped with RJ45. This RJ45 cable features a small size design, pair control, and angle selection for wiring in different directions, allowing for selection from up, down, left, and right angles. The cable uses 26 AWG twisted wire with excellent flexibility and is shielded with polyester aluminum foil to resist EMI and RFI.

The cable is made of aluminum foil shielded Category 6 jumper wire, 26 AWG multi strand twisted pair wire, and includes a center cross support bracket. CMR flame retardant grade PVC sheath, operating temperature range: -20 ° C~+75 ° C, nominal cable outer diameter: 0.236 inches (6.0 millimeters); Nominal outer diameter of wire/insulation layer: 0.037 inches (0.93 millimeters).

The X-code M12 connector achieves an IP67 protection level that prevents the intrusion of liquids and particles when properly connected, and its sturdy thread design makes accidental disconnection extremely difficult. Aluminum foil shielding (F/UTP) design can provide EMI/RFI interference protection. The outdoor grade PVC cable sheath has UV resistance and VW-1 flame retardant rating. Constructed with 26AWG multi strand wires to maintain flexibility. The X encoding component meets the requirements of the Category 6 10G Ethernet standard.

The cable can be coiled and extended, with a three times (3x) expansion ratio for the main body. The 6-inch output end is a standard RJ45 (8x8) connector. 26 AWG twisted structure, using UL 20352 spiral oil proof, high flexibility, halogen-free (ZH or 0Z) TPU polyurethane cable sheath, provides additional flexibility for this cable assembly. This coiled cable has a "memory" function that can provide millions of extension/contraction cycles without sacrificing its electrical performance.
