Ford Recalls 20484 Vehicles Due To High-voltage Battery Short Circuit

Ford Motor Company will recall some 2020-2024 Ford Escape and 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair models in the United States. Manufacturing defects in high-voltage battery cells may lead to internal short circuits and battery failures. Battery failure may result in loss of driving force, thereby increasing the risk of collision accidents. Battery failure can also increase the risk of fire.

Distributors will provide free updates to the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) software and replace high-voltage battery packs as needed. The car owner notification letter is expected to be sent out on January 20, 2025.
