When crimping the terminal, the ideal shape of the conduct crimping area should be a Bellmouth shape. That shape will make sure the conduct not easy to slide and provide enough retention force between the terminal and wire. Top-cable as a professional cable harness manufacture, we follow IPC-A-620 to control the crimp Bellmouth strictly.
Below is the IPC spec for the crimp Bellmouth.
Defect - Class 1,2,3
• No visible bellmouth at the conductor entry end of the crimp (1).
• Excessive bellmouth indicating over crimping or undersize wire gauge (2).

1. Conductor entry bellmouth
2. Brush-end bellmouth
