During the CHINAPLAS 2025 International Rubber and Plastic Exhibition, LG Chem will showcase its sustainable packaging material series UniqableTM, which includes multiple products developed using polyethylene materials.

The UniqableTM series adopts a single material polyethylene structure design, which can fully enter the existing recycling system. This material combines high transparency and optical properties while maintaining heat resistance, ductility, and printability, making it suitable for applications such as food packaging, composite film materials, and liquid vertical packaging.
The current market generally adopts composite structures such as polyethylene and nylon to enhance material strength, while the printing layer mostly uses PET film composite PE film, which has technical limitations in the recycling process. With the strengthening of packaging material management standards in multiple countries, the market demand for recyclable materials continues to grow. LG Chem's MDOPE (Unidirectional Stretching Polyethylene) and BOPE (Biaxially Stretching Polyethylene) films can meet the technical requirements of current mainstream packaging regulations.
In terms of technological research and development, LG Chem has collaborated with the German Reifenh ä user Group to develop a PFAS free ultra-thin MDO-PE film with a thickness of up to 18 μ m. The BOPE technology of this enterprise recently won the Korean Industrial Technology R&D Award. By optimizing the polymer crystal structure, it achieves high transparency while maintaining stiffness in a single material film. Enterprises can customize products with different thicknesses and performance parameters according to customer needs, including high stiffness, easy stretchability, and other characteristics.
On the basis of achieving 100% recyclability, this series of products helps reduce transportation costs and carbon emissions through lightweight material design. Tests have shown that its physical performance indicators have reached the same level as composite packaging materials. LG Chem stated that it will continue to expand the application areas of single material polyethylene packaging materials and work together with industry partners to promote the sustainable development of packaging materials.
