As a global leader in electronic products and innovator in connectivity technology, Molex's development in the automotive industry is based on its global expertise and local innovation. Its product portfolio covers high-speed networks, in car antenna systems, connected transportation, electrification, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and vehicle to everything communication (V2X), showcasing its cutting-edge solutions to address the trends of electrification, intelligence, and networking.

Modular architecture addresses the complex challenges of electrification
The complexity of automotive electronic systems is growing exponentially, and traditional wiring harness architectures are gradually unable to meet demand due to their large size and high cost. Engineers need more compact designs to integrate into increasingly narrow car spaces while accommodating more functions and connections. And these systems need to operate reliably in harsh environments such as extreme temperatures, vibrations, and humidity, managing high current loads and ensuring efficient power distribution without compromising safety.
To address this issue, Molex has launched modular products that support Zonal architecture. Its MX Dash series connectors provide automotive manufacturers with a more reliable and efficient connection solution when transitioning to the Zonal architecture by consolidating power, signal, and high-speed data connections into a single connector system.
High speed interconnection improves user experience
Molex integrates Laird's in car antenna technology to provide a variety of smart antenna solutions, including high-precision positioning for cellular networks, local connectivity, and shark fin multi-component antenna kits. Enable different types of antennas to provide high-speed connections in various environments and communicate with networks and infrastructure to better perceive the surrounding environment of vehicles, helping to achieve advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). According to customer needs, hidden and conformal antennas can be integrated into the vehicle body to achieve a neat and beautiful appearance, while customized antennas can accurately meet design and manufacturing requirements.
With the continuous improvement of automobile electrification, the amount of data that needs to be collected, processed, and transmitted is increasing. The HSAutoLink system has a data transfer rate of up to 40 Gbps (for HSAutoLink C) or 13.5 Gbps (for HSAutoLink II), supports protocols such as LVDS, USB 2.0 and 3.0, DisplayPort, and FDP-Link4, and can provide high-speed data connectivity for various applications. This USCAR compliant automotive grade connector has been reinforced to operate reliably in harsh environments and offers sealed and unsealed options as well as shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Sensors and data are changing the way vehicles are used. Molex's Perception Road Noise Reduction (RNC) sensor uses accelerometers and microphones to reduce annoying road noise and improve driver comfort. These sensors provide real-time monitoring capabilities, enabling vehicles to dynamically adapt to constantly changing situations to achieve optimal road noise reduction, thereby improving driving experience, enhancing passenger comfort and safety.
Unwavering localization strategy
China holds a dominant position in the global automotive industry, and since its first business in Dongguan in 1988, Molex has always regarded China as an indispensable and important market. Du Lin, Senior Sales Director of Molex China Automotive Market, commented, "For decades, we have been deeply involved in the Chinese automotive industry and have witnessed its rapid development firsthand. We have been operating in the Chinese market for a long time, not only understanding its unique dynamics, but also making positive contributions to its growth. Through close cooperation with domestic partners, we continue to support the development of cutting-edge technologies and provide solutions that match the rapid development of the industry. We firmly cooperate with our partners, and this commitment ensures that we continue to drive innovation and help shape the future of China's automotive industry
In addition, Molex recognizes the importance of localized innovation and has expanded its engineering and development facilities in China, as well as established a factory in Chengdu with the ability to provide customized solutions that meet the specific requirements of Chinese OEM manufacturers. In order to better support the constantly changing needs of Chinese automakers, Molex has recently restructured its Chinese automotive sales team, integrating regional and global teams into a unified department that covers the entire automotive ecosystem. This new architecture enhances collaboration and ensures seamless service to local and international clients.
